Mrs. Cheylette Nicole Sweed
The sun rose on the life of Mrs. Cheylette Nicole Sweed on August 13, 1977 in Denver, Colorado when she was born to Tyler H. Walker and Susie B. Dailey. The youngest of fourteen children, she had five brothers, Billy, Jerry, Michael, Kenneth and Carl and eight sisters, Debra, Edith, Shannon, Sheron, Sandy, Linda, Vickie and Audrey. A happy child, she was spoiled but loved by everyone. “We remember her 1st spanking. Not wanting her hair combed, she crawled under the table and Mama whooped her until she came out. Mama never had any more trouble with her after that”. Educated in the public school system, she graduated from Manual High School in 1995.
On June 4, 2004, Cheylette was united in marriage with Joseph Anthony Sweed at the City and County Building of Denver. Joseph struggled to love her and keep her happy throughout all her sicknesses. She was a loving mother to Joseph, Josiah, Isaiah and Phanayah and step children, D’Neah and Delaja.
The children remember Jojo dancing and Josiah wanting to massage where she hurt, but mostly the joy she brought their hearts. Her grandchildren, Semone, Ceinna and Sanayah remember always trying to scare “Granny” by hiding and jumping out at her. She loved them dearly.
Cheylette was employed with MCI in the position of a lead generator and was known for being very good at it. “She was all about hitting her numbers.” She enjoyed family, friends and buying beats (woofers and subwoofers). Her best friends, Curtis Curry, Kizzy Simmons and Delphina loved her for catering to her children. Cheylette’s love, compassion and caring nature will be deeply missed by all who shared a part of this lovely lady’s life. To know her was to love her.
The sun set on the life of Mrs. Cheylette Nicole Sweed on October 2, 2017 when she passed into eternal rest. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Billy and sisters, Linda, Vickie and Audrey. Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Joseph Sweed; sons, Isaiah Walker, Joseph Sweed, Jr. and Josiah Sweed; daughter, Phanaiya R.D.D. Walker, all of Denver, CO; brothers, Kenneth (Eunice) Walker, Michael Walker, Carl Walker, all of Denver, CO and Richard (Areli) Robbins of Aurora, CO; sisters, Shannon Walker of Aurora, CO, Sheron (Curtis Woods) Walker of Denver, CO, Sandra (Michael) Richardson of Thornton, CO, Edith Walker-Francheur of Denver, CO and Debra Walker-Brown of Sacramento, CA; two grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
