The Man...The Myth...The Legend...Mr. Norwood Germany, Jr. was born January 20, 1957 in Denver, Colorado to the union of Mr. Norwood Germany, Sr. and Mrs. Dorothy Mae Randall Germany. Wood, or Woody, was the 7th child and the 3rd son blessed by God to this family.
Wood grew up in the Montbello, Park Hill, Cole and Five Points neighborhoods of Denver where he attended Whittier, Columbine, Morey, East and Thomas Jefferson schools. Wood always had a job and did his best to assist family and friends in any way he could.
He had a natural ability to play sports, especially football, as well as the spirit of entrepreneurship from a young age throughout the rest of his life. Wood was such a beacon of love and joy, loved by his family and many friends, a mentor, a coach, a father figure to many, as well as being a great father to his children Alex, Alexis and Grayson.
Wood attended the University of Colorado in Boulder and Colorado Springs and the University of Nevada at Las Vegas where he graduated with a degree in Psychology.
After graduation from college, he remained in the Las Vegas area, married, and moved his young family to the Palm Springs, California area where he continued to build his own businesses culminating in the development of Peak Performance Sports and Fitness which he owned and operated as the Senior Personal Trainer.
Throughout his life he encouraged everyone he knew to JUST BE GOOD...live good, do good and good would come to you. Wood lived what he believed and shared his heart and blessings with all who crossed his path until he transitioned to his heavenly home.
Coach Woody Wood departed this life Tuesday, December 8, 2021 in his hometown of Denver, Colorado. Preceding him in death was his parents, Norwood and Dorothy Germany, his beloved paternal grandmother, Lori Tillman Talley, his brothers George Randall and Paul Germany, Sr., his sisters Helen Watkins, Pamela B. Germany and three days after he passed away, his loving sister Lorraine Germany joined him and our ancestors in eternity.
Remaining to cherish his memory are his children, son Alexander, daughters Alexis (John Fox) and Grayson Germany; his brothers Ronnie (RJay) and Dennis (Dax) Germany, sisters Cheryl Germany and Cynthia (Eugene) Jackson, his beloved Aunt Sallie (Chuck) Beauman, and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews' other family members and friends.
