Mom, please accept my condolences. Im sorry i never got a chance to meet you.Daryl would always say that you would asked about me an how i was doing. Big D will be miss I first had the pleasure of meeting Daryl at UNC in the 80's. Daryl has always been there for me if needed he attended my wedding and my 50th birthday party. My gift was rolled oats and maple syrup lol . If you all remember when he was on that diet lol. And don't forget his bronco. And fat. LOL. I remember we went to see new edition or guy and we had seats like 3rd row seats and becuse we were tall we had to sit down so other people could see man that was a awesome concert And he came up to Greeley when my daughter was born she was a few months old and he loaded her up in his Benz and drove around Greeley for a few hours. Oh can't forget how much he loved those huskers. We will miss you Big D.love u man may you rest in peace.

My Dear Leta,
Words cannot express the heartbreak I feel and that I'm sure overwhelms you. Daryl will always hold a piece of my heart and my gratitude for what our time together meant will live forever with my memories of him. My heart goes out to D’s mother during this very difficult time. She raised a wonderful son, who was kind, thoughtful and respected by all who met him.
Daryl and I (and my two sisters) were all neighborhood friends, as well as friends in HS. We maintained regular contact via text and FB. I will miss his BIG heart, personality and undeniable sense of style. What a profound loss for everyone who knew and loved him.
