My most poignant memory of Aunt Dorothy was her preparing communion on Sunday morning ,during Sunday school before church in the kitchen of the East Denver Church of Christ on Josephine Street EVERY Sunday morning. I became interested in what communion was what it symbolized because of the caring and humble nature I saw her display as she prepared “The Lord’s Supper” Philippians 2: 3-4 reminds us as Christians to “Serve wholeheartedly, as if we are serving the Lord, not people”. Aunt Dorothy encapsulated this calling chapter and verse. I recall Aunt Dorothy always being of service…to her family, to her church and to her community. She will be remembered and missed.
