I'm James' cousin. I remember when James, Chanel, and baby Taylor visited my mother's lodge many years ago. I was just a kid but I remember how excited they were to show off their beautiful baby girl. You could just tell James was so happy to be a dad.
A couple of years ago I went to lunch with my Auntie Jan, James, Taylor, Cole, and Dane. Taylor and James were seated next to each other and you could just tell from the way they interacted with one another they shared a special bond. My father passed away when I was very young, so I'm not sure what that experience is like but that day at lunch with them, I remember thinking that's the type of relationship a girl hopes to have with her dad. I didn't know James all that well but you could tell he really loved being a dad.

James was a great friend. He was like a brother to us. He always tease me and joke with me growing up, but also would be very protective. Growing up he was apart of family. All of us kids on Elmendorf had a special bond. I’m saddened we lost a great man! My heart goes out to the family and prayers. You will never be forgotten James. Love always, Ruby Duran.

I worked with James at Factory Motor Parts for 4years. James was the most coolest guys I known and so kindhearted. He always talked about his daughter always making him proud, and how much his brothers and niece and nephew looked so highly of him. You got your wings James. Tee

I only worked with James for a little under 2 years, but I saw him most every day. He was such a sweet man; he always had a smile and a kind word for me. He is missed.

James, my son. My oldest son. You were with me from the beginning. How can I even begin to express how heavy my heart is over losing you way too soon. You are still my heart as I know, and truly believe, that you are in heaven now. Happy with grandma and grandpa who always cherished you so very much.
