It's hard to pick out any one stroy when it comes to Loretta, but I remember this one day I planned to call her just to check in. I was busy. I knew Loretta was busy. I figured I would leave a voice mail but she picked up. We began talking and doing our little updates and before I knew it were were laughing like school girls. I know that day we both kept saying, "I have got to go." She had someone waiting on her and I had someone waiting on me, but we couldn't get off the phone. We just kept talking and laughing. To this day, I have no idea what I wanted to leave her a message about and I honestly have no idea how many topics we traversed that day - I only know that Loretta took the time to share herself with me. It was not our longest conversation, there had been others in the past and thank God there were others in the future - but it was the one that struck me when I thought about her. I have a million stories about Loretta and all of them end in the feeling of love - you know that kind of love that shows you that you are important enough to the other person that they make you feel like you are the only one there - even when it's crowded and everyone is pushing for that persons attention. Loretta had THAT skill. I will miss her laugh yes. I will miss her coffee too. I will even miss the sparkle in her eye. But it is the essense and energy of Loretta that I will miss the most. Heaven chose the best when they called her home and I am forever grateful for the gift God bestowed upon the world.
