Dear Family of Eula Criswell, Losing a loved one in death is never easy. We can find comfort in the fact that our Creator did not originally intend for us to die. We can also find comfort in the fact the He intends to bring death to an end (1 Corinthians 15:26, Isaiah 25:8). He also promises to resurrect our dead loved ones that that we can see them agai in the very near future (Acts 24:15, Revelation 21:3-5). Hopefully these truths are comforting for today. Please accept my condolences for your loss.

Grandma always looked nice, no matter where she was going or what she would be doing she looked like good doing it. There was one day I was over my moms visiting. Grandma was getting prepared to go out somewhere, during the early afternoon. After she had finished getting dressed she was headed to the door in a red skirt suit with some black heels on and a really nice fragrance. I looked and said, "grandma, you look nice; where are you going" she replied, "to the social security office" then I said, "you dont have to dress like that to go there" she replied, "I do". and that was the end of that conversation. Everytime I seen her she was together and thats how I will remember her, together.

you know my mom had many jobs and she worked as a bartender, next door was The Chicken House, and on nights she worked she would sometimes go over there and get some chicken, and she would give me the leftovers when she got home. I dont know if that chicken was really that good or if it was the fact that when she came home from working and i was still up she would ask if i wanted some chicken and i would sit on the floor by the couch where she sat while she watched TV. i felt so special sitting there hanging with my mom, my sisters and brother were sleep it was jut us two. was it the chicken or the time.

You know how you walk around singing, but not really trying to sing sing... just singing... dont let mom hear you, becuase she would, my goodness.. and breath in, and say you have to be a wnd machine... i still dont know how to do that i never got it no matter how much i tried, but i do think i am better than i would have been if i didnt know i was suppose to be a wind machine. i sing everyday and everyday i hear mom's words. You have to be a wind machine.... it always makes me smile..

My Mom was a great speller... and it just frustrated her to no end if we spelled incorrectly. she said my goodness ... Sound it out, it spells like it sounds.. i am still not the best speller but i always try and sound words out 50 years later....

Yea my mom had the prettiest legs ever... at least that's what she used to say when we were little, we lived on 13th street , i remember her laying on the couch and holding her legs up and saying my my my what pretty legs you have there... i see as she got older she didnt change, as we can see in ths picture she still found a way to show off her legs.

Mom was a really good cook and as i got older she decided that i should be too. so from the living room couch she taught me so many things about cooking. I learned how to make rolls, peach colber, dumplings, smoothered mackrel croquetts, meat loaf, chicken and noodles, mashed potatoes by time i was 14. I have a love for cooking today because she never asked if i wanted to she just said, go in there and put this in and put that in and stir.... step by step i learned and even taught my sisters soemthing about cooking.

I remember when i was a young girl, could not have been more than 12 or so, and mom and i went to Douglass Bank, she had cashed a check, she counted her money and realized she had been given too much. she went back in the drive through line and returned the money that was not hers. That was a lesson i will never forget and have always used that as a guide. Take nothing that doesnt belong to you. Mom was honest.

Momma im gunna miss going to the dollar tree and the thrift store with you and Tina. You and I were two pea's in a pot. We'd stay all day in those stores while Tina waited in the car. U taught me how to spot a bargain and told me when i was being scamed. After all day shopping you take tina and i for a bit to eat never worring about the cost. Never letting us pay. You always spoke wisdom to us girls , and even though you were'nt my birth mom. I felt like i was one of yours. I LOVE YOU MOMMA!!! and I WILL MISS Dearly.
