Obituary of Michelle Lynn Cavitt

Please share a memory of Michelle to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
The sun rose on the life of Mrs. Michelle Lynn Cavitt on December 12, 1964 in Gallup, New Mexico when she was born to Willie Cavitt and Maggie Harper. The second of three children born to this union, she had two brothers, Clint and Harold and two sisters, Barbara Anne and Jackie. Educated in the public school system, she graduated from East High School in Denver, Colorado, Class of 1984. Continuing her education, Michelle earned a Medical Assistant Certification at Concorde Career College in 1990. On March 7, 1997, Michelle was united in marriage with Tony Ray Griffie in Las Vegas, Nevada. " They got married in the back of a station wagon at " A Little White Chapel" all the lights in the time spent." The couple was together for a total of 34 years. To this union were born two beautiful children, Demetrius Devon and Jaquita Lynn. She was a devoted wife and loving mother. The children remember she was "always there no matter what. You could always count on her to make you feel better no matter what you were going through. She always put us first and we love her for that." In later years, her grandchildren, Nevaeh, Demetrius Jr. and Malik added much joy and pride to her life. They loved "Granny" playing cards, riding bikes, playing board games and having family nights going out to eat, especially Nevaeh. A woman of faith, Michelle was a member of Gethsemane Temple in Denver for the past six years. By profession a Medical Assistant, she was employed with Childrens Hospital for over twenty-eight years. She was known as "a wonderful woman, loving, very outgoing and caring, who loved working with everyone. She loved her work and "loved the babies". In her free time, Michelle enjoyed family, friends, party night with her daughter her grand babies, her music (70s and 80s old school and R&B were favorites), watching Family Feud, traveling, the mountains and Hawaii. Her friends loved her big heart and million dollar smile. "She was a very strong woman who fought all the way to the end." "Mom was a one of a kind. She always knew the right thing to say to everyone. She had a very special way of lifting spirits. You will never meet one of her kind because she is one. She is missed dearly and will never be forgotten."The sun set on the life of Mrs. Michelle Lynn Cavitt on September 16, 2014 when the Lord called her home to eternal rest. She is preceded in death by her father. Those left to cherish her memory include her devoted husband, Tony Griffie of Aurora, CO; son, Demetrius Cavitt; daughter, Jaquita Lynn Cavitt; mother, Maggie Harper; brothers, Clint Cavitt and Harold Cavitt; sisters, Barbara Anne and Jackie; all of Denver, CO; three grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
