Obituary of Willie Edna Cyphers

Please share a memory of Willie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
The sun rose on the life of Ms. Willie Edna Cyphers on June 26, 1930 in Lockhart, Texas when she was born to Andrew and Helen Cyphers. Willie had nine brothers, Andrew, Jr., Alton, Fred, Esilure, Harvey, Wilbert, Curtis, Arthur and Robert and twelve sisters, Jessie, Elnora, Annie Mae, Fannie, Apple Lee, Corrine, Leola, Viola, Mallie Kay, Etta, Geneva and Katherine. As a child, she always worked hard on the family farm. Athletically talented, she loved that she and her sisters had their own basketball team. Willie was the loving and devoted mother of one son, Tommy Lee. In later years, her grandchildren, Matthew, Toni and Travis were a special source of joy and pride in her life. They lovingly called her "Grandma". Matthew remarked, "It's very rare that you get to come across a beautiful person. I am forever grateful that I was able to call her Grandma." Willie had a very strong faith in the Lord. She was employed with Kaiser in the Housekeeping Department until she retired. Known for hard work and dependability, her co-workers remembered that she always enjoyed going to company Christmas parties. In her free time, Willie enjoyed family, friends, volunteering at Warren Village and playing slots at the casinos in the hills. Her many friends loved her great spirit and energy. She was hard working, peaceful, independent, strong, giving, loving and positive. "She was sweet, beautiful and fought with dignity until the end." Her love, caring and positive attitude will be deeply missed by all who shared a part of Willie's life. To know her was to love her. The sun set on the life of Ms. Willie Edna Cyphers on June 9, 2016 when she passed from this life into eternal rest. She is preceded in death by her son, parents, six brothers and eight sisters. Those left to cherish her memory include her grandsons, Matthew Roberts of Aurora, CO and Travis Barnes of Arvada, CO; grand-daughter, Toni Cyphers of Denver, CO; great grandchildren, Analya, Marley, Christian, Dominic, Benino, Jaydon and Antonio; brothers, Curtis, Arthur and Robert; sisters, Mallie Kay, Etta, Geneva and Katherine; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Rest in peace...Ms. Willie
