Obituary of Lee Anna Shepard

The sun rose on the life of Mrs. Lee Anna Shepard on December 14, 1932 in Burleson County, Texas when she was born to Tommie and Ida B. Steward. Educated in the public school system, she attended Dabney Hill School in Snooks, Texas from 1937 to 1947. In 1947, Lee Anna was united in marriage with Lacy Davis. The marriage was later dissolved. In 1967, She was united in marriage with Lawrence Shepard. The couple adopted one handsome son, Dwayne Jeter in October, 1970. She was a loving mother. Mrs. Shepard worked at St. Joseph Hospital in Denver, Colorado in the position of a housekeeper from 1965 to 1975. From 1975 to 1979, she was employed as a bus driver for the Denver Public School system. Relocating to College Station, TX, she worked in the Mess Hall. In 1980, she was employed with the Sanitation Department of the City of College Station until 1986 when she returned to Denver, Colorado. Mrs. Shepard loved spending time with family and friends, playing bingo, working word search puzzles and playing dominoes. She was affectionately referred to as the "Domino Queen". She played dominoes in many tournaments and was a long time member of a domino club. To know Lee Anna was to love her and she will be greatly missed. The sun set on the life of Mrs. Lee Anna Shepard on August 23, 2016 when she passed into eternal rest. She is preceded in death by her parents, Tommie Steward and Ida B. Steward; sisters, Roberta Smith and Pearlie Mae Cunningham; brothers, Ernest Steward and Charlie Clifton; step sister, Fannie Baker and step brother, Bobbie Johnson. Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Dwayne Jeter of Denver, CO; nieces, Rachel Smith of Ft. Worth, TX, Erma Lee Williams, Lillie Mae York, Mary Jo Crawford, all of Houston, TX and Kathy Johnson of Dallas, TX; nephew, Raymond Swain of Denver, CO; step brothers, Joseph Johnson, Jr. of Denver, CO and Albert Johnson of Houston, TX; best friends, Bobbie Taylor and Jurutha Mottley, both of Denver, CO; god daughters, Minnie Hudson and Rose Parker, both of Denver, CO and a host of other nieces, other nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
