Obituary of Sandra Kaye Rowe

Please share a memory of Sandra to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
The sun rose on the life of Mrs. Sandra Kaye Rowe on December 9, 1951 in Little Rock, Arkansas when she was born to Howard Rowe and Versie Hinton. The second of three children, Sandra had one brother, Howard and one sister, Andrea. A happy child, she was always dancing and taking care of her sister. She loved to sew and make her own clothes and she loved to rollerskate. Educated in the public school system, Sandra graduated from Crenshaw High School in Los Angeles, California. She continued her education at Los Angeles Community College in California. On September 1, 1974, Sandra was united in marriage with Reginald W. Clay whom she met at a low-rider car show. "They loved music! They would just drive around town listening to music. They loved to cook and have movie nights and go to the drive in." To this union was born one beautiful daughter, Shani. "Sandra loved to dress Shani up. Sandra's mother, Versie, would get frustrated because Sandra would sometimes change Shani's clothes 3 or 4 times a day." In later years, her grandchildren, Anthony, Aaron and Jalen were a special source of joy in her life. They remember "Nana" picking them up from school every day and taking them to school to buy junk food. The boys loved her cooking and remember when she turned up her TV so loud they could hear it upstairs. Time with them was one of her favorite things. A woman of faith, Sandra was a member of Solomon Temple Baptist Church for eight years. She was employed at Davis Nursing Home in Denver in the position of a CNA. She had previously worked at the Holiday Inn downtown Denver. In her free time, she enjoyed family, friends, watching movies, listening to music (anything by Anita Baker and old time R&B), cooking and playing cards. Her best friends, Linda Rosado, Sherron Gruyarloe, Wanda Gregg and Renae Price loved her for being fun and full of life. "She was the life of the party and loved to dance." This funny, caring lady with her outgoing personality and sense of humor was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched. To know Sandra was to love her. The sun set on the life of Mrs. Sandra Kaye Rowe on October 27, 2016 when the Lord called her home to eternal rest. She is preceded in death by her husband, father, brother and sister. Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Shani (Laroyce) Marshall of Aurora, CO; mother, Versie Hinton of Los Angeles, CA; three grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Rest in peace...Sandra
