Please share a memory of Ruth to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
The sun rose on the life of Mrs. Ruth Ann Perry on August 12, 1958 in St. Louis, Missouri when she was born to William McFerren and Jerlene Caldwell. Ruth Ann was raised by her mother and stepfather, Press Caldwell, whom she loved dearly. She grew up surrounded by six brothers, Gilbert, Richard, Glenn Wayne, Dwayne, Dwight and Tony and two sisters, Yolanda and Cynthia. As a child, Ruth Ann was always the "boss" and a second mom. She was very strong will and was a member of the Elks Drum and Bugle Corp. Educated in the public school system, she graduated from Manual High School in Denver, Colorado, Class of 1977. She excelled in school being a Straight A student and was her class Valedictorian. On December 1, 1997, Ruth Ann was united in marriage with the love of her life, Stanford Perry whom she had known since grade school. He loved the way she danced and cooked. She was a devoted wife and was the loving mother of two sons, Torey and Tyrell. In later years, her grandchildren, Darius, Davontay and Alayah were a special source of joy in her life. They loved their "Grandma" dearly. Ruth was employed with Walmart in the position of Supervisor for a number of years. She had previously worked at Church's Chicken. She was known for hard work, dedication to her job and dependability. Everyone enjoyed working with her. In her free time, family was everything Ruth needed to entertain her. Her best friend was Stanford. Everyone who knew her will always remember her infectious laughter and her wonderful cooking. Her favorite song was "Amen". Her most often used expression was, "I love you, baby." She liked purple, TV Westerns and Blues music. Her love and commitment to unifying her family will be missed by all who knew this lovely lady. To know Ruth Ann was to love her. The sun set on the life of Mrs. Ruth Ann Perry on December 7, 2016 when she passed into eternal rest. Those left to cherish her memory include her devoted husband, children, grandchildren, siblings, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
