Obituary of Luveta Anthony
Please share a memory of Luveta to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
The sun rose on the life of Mrs. Luveta Anthony on July 11, 1928 in Paris, Texas when she was born to Cleveland McGrew and Pearl Reed McGrew. The third of four children, she had three brothers, Marshall, Ted and Jesse. A happy child, Luveta spent much of her time joking with her friends and studying in school. She enjoyed going to the movies and sharing other activities with her friends. Educated in the public school system, she graduated from Gibbons High School in Paris. On May 31, 1949, Luveta was united in marriage with her school sweetheart, Charles Anthony. The couple exchanged their vows in their hometown church in Paris. "They were loving and always helping each other." To this union were born three handsome sons, Charles, Michael and Ronnie. A devoted wife and loving mother, she was always there to guide, help and comfort her children. In later years, her grandchildren, Michelle, Charles II, Marguerite, Charles III, and Michael II and her eleven great grandchildren were a special source of joy and pride in her life. They remember "Grandma" having a boom box on her dining room table and playing the song "Rough Side of the Mountain" over and over. One of her favorite things to do was play lotto. They loved her dearly as she did them. A woman of deep faith in God, Luveta was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church for over 50 years. She was a professional home child care provider. She devoted herself to caring for children in her home, caring for her family and home all of her life. Everyone felt her happiness and concern for others. In her free time, Luveta enjoyed family, friends, dinners and movies. Her many friends loved her kindness and loving, helpful nature. Her favorite color was pink. She loved violets and roses and she most enjoyed listening to gospel music. "She was a very nice person who was always willing to help others." Her love, caring, concern and kindness will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to have shared a part of Mrs. Luveta's life. To know her was to love her. The sun set on the life of Mrs. Luveta Anthony on February 17, 2017 when the Lord called her home to eternal rest. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers, grandchildren, Michelle Johnston and Charles Anthony II. Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Michael Anthony, Charles Anthony, Jr. and Ronnie Anthony, all of Denver, CO; three grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Rest in peace...Luveta
