Obituary of Ahmad Ali Lucas

The sun rose on the life of Mr. Ahmad Ali Lucas (Clarence Lucas, Jr.) on June 4, 1955 in Des Moines, Iowa when he was born to Clarence Lucas, Sr. and Ruth Fountain. He had three brothers, Duane, Cleo and Clark and four sisters, Clarice, Colette, Cheryl and Cherrie. Ahmad proudly served his country in the United States Navy from September 26, 1974 to September 25, 1979. He was stationed in San Diego, California. Having completed his active duty with honor and distinction, Ahmad received an Honorable Discharge from the Navy and a grateful nation. Ahmad was the loving father of two beautiful daughters, Allisha and Autumn. They remember he enjoyed watching movies, wrestling and eating together at Popeyes Fried Chicken and M & D;s Restaurant.. "He was a loving dad who was easy to talk to and gave great advice." In late years, his grandchildren, Domaneke, Dallisha, DeLiyah, DeMiayh, DeMiyah and Dallas were a special source of joy and pride in his life. Ahmad was employed the longest at the Denver Public Library. "He loved to read." He also loved music (Reggae and George Clinton were favorites) and playing basketball with his friends, "Goat", David Bennett, Lee, Randy, GG and Joe Murphy. They will always remember his basketball skills and his wonderful sense of humor. Words that come to mind when trying to describe Ahmad are "cool, stylish, confident, jokester, stubborn, thinker and reader." His love, laughter. sense of humor and beautiful smile will be deeply missed by all who shared a part of his life. To know Ahmad was to love him. The sun set on the life of Mr. Ahmad Ali Lucas (Clarence Lucas, Jr.) on April 1, 2017 when he passed into eternal rest. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Cherrie. Those left to cherish his memory include his daughters, Autumn Lucas of Arvada, CO and Allisha Lucas of Omaha, NE; brothers, Duane (Irma) Lucas of Denver, CO, Cleo Lucas of Aurora, CO and Clark (Diane) Lucas of Denver, CO; sisters, Clarice Taylor of Ft. Washington, MD, Colette Lucas-Irving of Aurora, CO and Cheryl Lucas of Denver, CO; seven grandchildren and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
