Obituary of Wynona Louise Kenney

Please share a memory of Wynona to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
The sun rose on the life of Mrs. Wynona Louise Kenney on March 1, 1936 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma when she was born to Woodson Martin and Velma Baggett-Martin. The youngest of two children, she had one sister, Sonoma. A happy child, she was always following her big sister around and spending time with her Aunt Stella. She loved to dance and go to see all the nickel movies. Educated in the public school system,Wynona completed the eighth grade. On October 22, 1965, Wynona was united in marriage with the love of her life, William Kenney. She had met him at a military ball in Leadville, Colorado. The couple exchanged their vows in Steamboat Springs, CO. "They were married for over 53 years. They shared much love, laughter and just pure enjoyment of each other." To this union were born three daughters, Rene', Tina and Amber. Additionally, Wynona was the loving mother of two sons, Robin and Mark. She was a devoted wife and a caring, concerned mother. She was also the doting grandmother of thirteen grandchildren, Dalton, Caleb, Logan, Blake, Aspyn, William, Brittany, Aidan, Isaac, Quin, Tandra, Nick and Andrew and great grandchildren, Everett, Abigail, Elizabeth and Ariana. They remember "Grandma No No" always spoiled them and had goodies for them. A woman of faith, Wynona was baptized at Baker Heights Church of Christ and attended Mountain View Church of Christ. While she had several jobs doing housekeeping and waitressing, she spent most of her adult life being a mother and wife and caring for her family and home. Everyone would always say she was a joy to work with. In her free time, she enjoyed family, friends, reading and visiting her sister in Texas. Her best friends were Phyllis Lykins and Pat Sipple. Her favorite expressions were "Spit fire and save the matches." "What's your hurry?" and "What did you bring me to eat?" Her favorite colors were red and purple, she loved roses and lillies and she most enjoyed country music. Wynona's most lasting impact on everyone was her willingness to help anyone. "If you needed anything, she was there." Her love, caring and kindness will be deeply missed by all who shared a part of this lovely lady's life. To know Wynona was to love her. The sun set on the life of Mrs. Wynona Louise Kenney on April 4, 2017 when the Lord called her home to eternal rest. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister and son, Mark. Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Robin Pridmore of Aurora, CO; daughters, Rene' (Jim) Dukes of Frederick, CO, Tina (Randy) Howard of Aurora, CO and Amber (Evan) Carlstrom of Lakewood, CO; 13 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
