The sun rose on the life of Mr. Wendell Lewis Germany on March 22, 1955 in Denver, Colorado when he was born to James Curtis Germany and Johnnie Mae Spencer. The third of four children born to this union, he had two brothers and one sister, James, Edward andPatricia. Additionally he had six siblings, Gregory, Michael, Nicole, Michelle, Lisa and Beverly and step siblings, Roy, Karen and Amos.
As a child, he was always playing the drums, enjoying music and fishing. His favorite memories were family gatherings at City Park. Educated in the public school system, Wendell graduated from Manual High School. Wendell proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1976 through 1980. He was stationed at Fitzsimmons Army Hospital. His final rank was PV2. Having completed his active duty with honor and distinction, he was given an Honorable Discharge.
On July 10, 1993, Wendell was united in marriage with the love of his life, Sarah Hardy at the Dahlia Hope Center in Denver. There are beautiful memories. "He was a loving husband." To this union were born two daughters, LaTosha (deceased) and Tiffany. Additionally, Wendell was the father of Johnathan, Patricia, Gloria and Robert. He was a loving father, very compassionate. "Every other Saturday, we would have a car wash and the proceeds would pay for our pizza at Pizza Hut. We would have lots of fun working together while making money." In later years, his 24 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren brought him much joy. They called him "Poppa" and "Belly".
A man of faith, Wendell was a member of Solomon Temple Baptist Church. He was their drummer. He was employed with Coors Brewing Comapny as well as The Bid as a painter on the 16th street mall for 2 years until his death. Wendell was known for dedication and hard work. He enjoyed family, friends, music, drumming and teaching drumming to others, fishing and reading. His best friend was Al Austin. They enjoyed fishing together and discussing the bible. He will be best remembered for being compassionate, his knowledge with legal advice, and his smile. To know Wendell was to love him and he will be greatly missed.
The sun set on the life of Mr. Wendell Lewis Germany on April 14, 2017 when the Lord called him home to eternal rest. He is preceded in death by his parents and daughter, LaTosha Paige. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Sarah Germany; sons, Johnathan "JH" (Kacy) Germany and Robert Hardy; daughters, Tiffany Hardy, Gloria Monroe and Patricia Hardy; sisters-in-law, Rosie Rhodes, Regina Germany and Ruby Hardy, all of Denver, CO; 24 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and a host of his nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
