Obituary of Tammy Dennise Peals-Washington
Please share a memory of Tammy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
The sun rose on the life of Mrs. Tammy Dennise Peals-Washington on August 17, 1963 in Denver, Colorado when she was born to John Garcia and Imogene Scott. The oldest of seven children, she had three brothers, Jonathan, Anthony and Carlos and three sisters, Lisa, April and Karla. A happy child, Tammy was always funny and loud. Her siblings remember, "Everyone wanted to be her favorite because everyone thought they were and we all were, each in their own way.
"Tammy is always going to be "Tam" no matter where she's at. We're going to miss getting on her nerves and then laughing about it later." Educated in the public school system, Tammy graduated from East High School in Denver. On July 24, 2009, Tammy was united in marriage with Rickey Washington at the courthouse in Aurora, CO. He remembers, "We had some ups and downs, but nothing ever broke the love we had." Tammy was a devoted and loving mother to three beautiful children, Jermaine, Ebony and Charisma.
They remember her always being their protector and just being there no matter what. In later years, her grandchildren, Jelisia, Little Ebony, Christian,Jr., Janiyah, I'naya, Quincy, Jr., Quiana and Korvai added much joy and pride to her life. They shared a strong bond with "Granny". Every time you saw Tammy, you saw a couple of her "grammies" (as she called them) with her. Tammy was employed with Alliance Data in the position of a Customer Care Advocate for the past 8 years. She previously worked at Channel 6. Everyone at work called her "Bubbles" because of her beauty and outgoing personality. In her leisure time, Tammy enjoyed sharing quality time with family and friends and watching "her shows". Her best friend was her husband, Rick. Everyone love her personality, kindness, giving nature, beauty, wild side and being fiesty with no filter. "She was outspoken and said what she had to say, no matter what." Her favorite color was turquoise and she enjoyed all types of music. She loved to dance. She was loved intensely and will be greatly missed. To know Tammy was to love her.
The sun set on the life of Mrs. Tammy Dennise Peals-Washington on April 13, 2017 when she passed into eternal rest. She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Carlos Garcia.
