I worked with Mr. Bishop at RRCC for nearly two decades. First around him, later for him, and later yet with him. In the entirety of that timeline my favorite two years have to be working for him. Bishop was always a great person and every day was an honor. I as many coworkers and students always held the deepest respect for him. Learning of his passing was difficult for all of us knowing who this world in general lost. My deepest condolences and prayers go out for his wonderful wife Karen and the rest of his family. God bless you all in this difficult time.

My first day at East High School was so very memorable because of Mr. Bishop! He was the first person to greet me as I walked into the doors. When I was formally introduced, his abundant smile and warm heart shown through his eyes. He shook my hand welcomed me to East and I knew that I was going to fit in! All because of Mr. B! You will be missed but never forgotten!

I am a teacher at East High School, and there is one time in particular when my parents were visisitng that Mr. Burroughs went above and beyond his duty. He greeted my parents at the door. He talked kindly and got them school pins all before I was able to meet them, and it left such a good impression on my parents that they still talk about the kind man who welcomed them to our building. It makes such a difference on the perceptions of people in a place when they are greeted and treated kindly, and Mr. Burroughs seemd to undertand that very well. We were lucky to have him here!

To the Burroughs Family, what a wonderful man! We shared many laughs and it was just a joy to see him come through the office doors, because I knew he would have something funny to say. Bishop spoke often of you Karen and your family. We will miss him. Lean on God because He is our sustainer and the lifter of our heads. God Bless you and family.
