Obituary of Queen TaZhane Ashby
Please share a memory of Queen to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Queen TaZhane Ashby was born on March 7, 1997 in Aurora, Colorado to Tiffiany Marie Ryals and Erdis Moore. Queen shared a very strong bond with her stepfather, Shontrell Ryals from the age of 9. Queen was an only child to her mother and the second granddaughter to her grandmother Hattie M Ashby. Queen shared a very special relationship with her grandmother from birth.
Queen received her formal education from Overland High School in Aurora. Queen graduated in May of 2015 walking the stage in the same cap and gown worn by her mother 20 years prior. Queen was a cheerleader at Overland and shared strong bonds with her teammates and teachers. Her favorite class was art. Queen loved drawing and she excelled at it. Queen also joined the music club after teaching herself to play guitar. She is remembered for always having a smile on her face and wanting to befriend everyone.
Queen was first christened at Central Baptist Church on Easter Sunday in 1997. She was later baptized at the age of 7 years old. Queen attended Sunday school weekly and was a member of the children's choir. Queen rededicated her life to God at For His Glory Christian Fellowship where Queen participated in the Xtreme Teens program. She learned to "Live Out Loud" at the Youth Spiritual Encounter when the group traveled to Houston, Texas. On youth Sundays, Queen showed off her excellent speaking skills by delivering the visitor greeting, a position that was given to her mother by Pastors Tom & Anitha Jones. Queen also worked on Sundays with the children's ministry. She loved to participate in the For His Glory Mother's Day fashion show as a model, and was also a member of the Christian based Etiquette on the Runway Program with Gigi and Mark Hatcher.
Queens's life was blessed with the birth of her beautiful daughter Duchess MyaLeigh McMillon on October 31, 2016 fathered by Jiron McMillon. Queen and Jiron met in 2014 at Applebee's where he works when she was out with her mom and stepfather during family night. Family and friends were everything to Queen. She enjoyed Wednesday night family nights with her mom Tiffiany and Stepfather Shontrell. No matter what she always showed up. She loved her childhood friends and although on different paths, they always kept in touch.
Queen worked in a variety of customer service positions. She most recently worked at Red Robin
in Aurora Colorado as a hostess. Her favorite job was at Sweet Tomatoes also located in Aurora and
the staff still has nothing but positive memories about working with her. She also worked at Gott-ACostume
in their "rent an actor" department and often played the role of Minnie Mouse and the Easter bunny. She was deeply loved and will be truly missed.
Ms. Queen TaZhane Ashby went home to be with the Lord on April 8, 2017. Although Queen will not be here to see her daughter grow up, Duchess will have a strong combined family that will keep Queen's memory so Duchess will know how wonderful her mother was. Grandparents Tiffiany & Shontrell Ryals have the support of her father, Jiron McMillon; his parents, Qualisha & Corey Leonard, grandfathers, Erdis Moore & Ron McMillon, great-grandmother, Hattie Ashby, god parents, Marshell & Robert Lowman, god sister, Destyny Lowman and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Rest in peace...Queen
