Obituary of Rahim Shbazz
Please share a memory of Rahim to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
The sun rose on the life of Mr. Rahim Abdul Shbazz (Richard Johnson) on August 17, 1955 in Denver, Colorado when he was born to Earl B and Alice Banks Johnson. The youngest of three children, Rahim had two sisters, Diana and Christine. As a child, he was always riding his bicycle and his big red wagon. "He was always getting into trouble and his big sisters had to spank him." Educated in the public school system, Rahim attended Wyatt and Whittier Elementary, Cole Junior High and graduated from Manual High School. He was given an award in gymnastics in school.
Rahim proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was stationed in Germany and his final rank was Pvt. 2nd class. Having completed his active duty with honor and distinction, he was given an honorable discharge from the Army and a grateful nation. Rahim was the loving father of two daughters, April and Miracle. He was in a devoted relationship with Renalda L. Westmoreland and her daughter, Nakashia. He was the loving stepfather of Denisha and Destini. Additionally, he was the proud great grandfather of Cheadaun who lived in their home and brought much joy. His grandchildren and great grandchildren remember "Papa" playing and cooking with them, dancing and sharing lots of laughter.
By profession a battery technician, Rahim was employed with DC Conley Solutions in Denver for many years. He was known for hard work, dependability and dedication to his job. In his free time, he enjoyed family, friends, cooking, dancing and great conversations. His best friends, Melvin Ware and Lester Gray remember him being the life of the party. His favorite expressions were, "You ain't got to go, but you got to get the hell out of here." and "Don't get it twisted." His love and laughter will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved this dancing, joyful man.
The sun set on the life of Mr. Rahim Abdul Shbazz (Richard Johnson) on June 23, 2017 when he passed into eternal rest. He is preceded in death by his parents.
