Obituary of Cornelius Thomas Pullman
Please share a memory of Cornelius to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Cornelius Thomas Pullman graced the world with his presence on October 11, 1930, in St. Louis, Missouri. The 8th child of 11 siblings from his parents, Thomas and Odelia T. Pullman. Growing up in St. Louis, Cornelius
attended Dunbar High School. He continued his education at the University of Missouri Extension Center of St. Louis County where he received a certificate in Supervision and Group Performance.
In 1947 Cornelius met the "Love of His Life", Irene Dowell. From that point, both knew they would spend
the rest of their lives together under God. On November 23, 1950, they married and from this lovely union came 10 children, five girls and five boys. From 1965 to 1977 Comelius did some amazing things in the city of St. Louis. He worked in the Law Enforcement field as a Correctional and Probation Officer for the Juvenile Courts. He also had his own private security service. He organized Youth Sports to help keep kids active from the dangers of the streets. To this day his legacy lives on. In September 1977, Cornelius and Irene relocated their family to Denver, Colorado. That's where he started his own janitorial service, which lasted for 13 years.
He was a member of Denver's PAL League where he started his Green Valley Youth Organization. Throughout Cornelius' life, he accomplished many things; such as recording a family gospel album, was inducted into the Colorado ASA Hall of Fame and received many awards for being a dedicated coach.
To know Cornelius was to TRULY love him. With his jovial and humorous personality, he could put a smile on anyone's face. He LOVED his family with a strong conviction which he extended to the world. He was very passionate about family, friends, sports and music!
