Obituary of Omari Kwame Mitchell
Please share a memory of Omari to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
The sun rose on the life of Mr. Omari Kwame Mitchell on January 10, 1981 in Denver, Colorado when he was born to Thomas B. Ayers and Jewell M. Mitchell. The second of four children, Omari had two brothers, Eugene and Jamal and one sister, Charita. A happy child, he was always climbing on the roof or climbing trees. A favorite memory from childhood was when he and his cousin, were shoveling snow all day and then decided to go sliding and they were on the Channel 14 news.
Educated in the public school system, Omari attended Smith Elementary, Gove Junior High and graduated from Littleton High School. Omari was involved in a deep, loving relationship with Rebecca Smith, his "soulmate". The couple loved fishing and riding their dirt bike. He was the loving and devoted father of three beautiful daughters, Janissa, Bianca and Alexandra from a previous relationship. After meeting Rebecca, he also became the loving father of three additional daughters, Alizah, Jatazia and Ahmarrea.
A man of faith, Omari was a member of Greater Harvest C.O.G.I.C. under the leadership of Pastor Paul Nave, Sr. An entrepreneur, Omari was the owner of "Tree Removal Service". He owned the company for three years. He was known for being a very dedicated and hard worker who everyone enjoyed working with. In his free time, Omari enjoyed family, friends, fishing, fishing and more fishing! His best friend was his companion, Rebecca.
Omari most lasting impression of everyone was his protection for his family; all the women in his family. He was so devoted and would give you the shirt off his back if he thought you needed it. Omari had a smile that would light up an entire room. To know him was to love him and he will be greatly missed.
The sun set on the life of Mr. Omari Kwame Mitchell on November 15, 2017 when the Lord called him home to eternal rest. Those left to cherish his memory include his devoted companion, Rebecca Smith of Lakewood, CO; daughters, Alizah Smith, Jatazia Smith, Ahmarrea Carswell, all of Lakewood, Rebecca Mitchell of Pueblo, CO, Bianca Mitchell and Alexandra Mitchell, both of Denver, CO; parents, Thomas (Amelia) Ayers of Atlanta, GA and Jewell Mitchell of Denver, CO; brothers, Eugene Mitchell of Parker, CO and Jamal Ayers of Denver, CO; sister, Charita Mitchell of Denver, CO; grandparents, Dorothy Mitchell of Denver, CO and Fermon Ayers of Wichita Falls, TX; and a host of aunts, uncles, his nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
