Obituary of Carlton Moore

The sun rose on the life of Mr. Carlton Moore, Jr. on January 26, 1938 in Medina, Tennessee when he was born to Carlton Moore, Sr. and Laura Bell Moore. One of five children, Carlton had three brothers, Howard, Ronald and Donald and one sister, Betty. Educated in the public school system, Carlton graduated from Milan High School in Milan, TN, class of '56. Carlton proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp. He served with honor and distinction. When he completed his active duty, he was given an honorable discharge from the Marines and a grateful nation. Carlton was united in marriage with Shirley Ann Banks. The couple enjoyed thirty-seven years of love and joy together. He was the loving father of six children, Laurine, Rhonda, Gregory, Carl Eric, Gary Lee and Roderick. Additionally, he was "second father" to Patricia, John, Jr., Darrell, Lisa, Diedre, Michelle and Kim. He was a devoted and good husband and father. In later years, his ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren were an added source of joy and pride in his life. He loved them dearly. A man of great management skills, Carlton was employed with H. Salzman Meat Packing Company, Pepper Meat Packing Company and Gart Brothers Distribution Company, always in management positions. He was known for hard work, dedication and excellence in his work. In his free time, he enjoyed family and friends. To know Carlton was to love him and he will be greatly missed. The sun set on the life of Mr. Carlton Moore, Jr. on November 19, 2017 when he passed into eternal rest. He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Betty; brother, Howard M. Moore; and son, Gregory Moore. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Shirley Ann Moore of Denver, CO; children, Laurine Moore of Milan, IN, Rhonda Moore of St. Louis, MO, Carl E. (Mary) Moore of Dallas, TX, Gary L (Jackie) Moore and Roderick Moore, both of Denver,CO; brothers, Ronald (Beatrice) Moore and Donald Moore, both of St. Louis, MO; step-children, Patricia (Alvis) Wiley, John Austin, Jr., Darrell, Lisa, Diedre (Ivy) Anderson, Michelle (Eugene) Lawrence and Kim Austin (Joe Algee); sister-in-law, Debra Moore; 10 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
