Obituary of David Gregg

The sun rose on the life of Mst. Sgt. David Gregg, (ret.) on January 8, 1937 in Hartsell, Tennessee when he was born to William and Geneva Gregg. The youngest of two children, David had one brother, Eugene. Educated in the public school system, David graduated from Butler High School. David proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He was stationed in several places all around the world. David's final rank was Master Sergeant. When he completed his active duty, he was given an honorable discharge from the Air Force and a grateful nation.
On January 29, 1961 David was united in marriage with Barbara Nell, whom he met at Kessler Air Force Base. The couple exchanged their vows in Gulf Port, Mississippi. To this union was born one son, David Delain. David was a devoted husband and loving father. In later years, his grandchildren, Jasmine, Trey and Alana and great grandson, Elijah were a source of joy in his life.
They affectionately called him "Grandpop" and loved him dearly. After retirement from the military, David continued to serve his country as a maintenance tech with the United States Postal Service for 23 years. In his free time, he enjoyed family, friends, tinkering with cars and CB radios. His favorite music was R&B and jazz. His love and caring will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to be a part of David' slife. To know him was to love him.
The sun set on the life of Mst. Sgt. David Gregg, (ret.) on November 22, 2017 when he passed into eternal rest. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Barbara N. Gregg of Denver, CO; son, David D. Gregg of Denver, CO; three grandchildren; one great grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
