You were amazingly kind. It has been years since I met you at MCI but, you left a huge impression. Your love for books, culture, restaurants and music. A true renaissance man.
You will be missed

My sincerest condolences to the family. I am the Senior Librarian at the Ford-Warren Branch Library that Malcolm visited often. He was one of my favorite customers. He would regularly come in singing and smiling! We would talk about his family, restaurants and food. He was a delight and a gem. We will miss his visits to the library.

At a loss for words.... Malcolm and I went to school together. Junior hi and highschool. We ran track together in school and in summer leagues. We even shared track shoes. He, Art Turman and I were the 3 Super Sophmores in 1977. Only sophmores on the state championship track team.
We chatted online last spring about getting together for dinner. I'm sad that I didn't make it happen. Loved him like a brother. His humor was un matched. Sooo many great memories. My love and prayers to his family.

Malcolm.
It is a rare and wonderful thing as a teacher to meet a parent who teaches you so much.
I will always cherish my time teaching Gabrielle at St. Elizabeth, and Cynthia was always so kind to me. But hearing Malcolm talk about his life and his family changed the kind of person and father and teacher I am now.
Gabrielle and Cynthia my love to you both.

Cynthia and Gabrielle, I just today saw the news of Malcolm's passing. My deepest condolences to both of you at this truly difficult and sorrowful time. Cynthia, I recall how Malcolm was head over heals for you, and for him it was likely love at first sight right here at Denver Public Library. Even more than he enjoyed libraries and books, I'd be willing to bet his greatest library memory was the day he saw his future wife and knew in his heart that some day you'd be just that. And then year's later came the 2nd jewel of his heart--his daughter Gabrielle! All one has to do is visit Facebook and see what a truly blessed family the 3 of you were. Gabrielle came into this world an absolute blessing, and such a beauty! I could see features of both her proud parents in her... what an enormous gift from God! In reading Malcolm's obituary, he was certainly accomplished, but I know no accomplishment meant more than the two of you! Again, my deepest condolences to both of you, and to his mother and all his treasured family and friends. Remember, he is always but a thought away. Memories are those comforts that remain with you always. GOD bless you all.
Sincerely, Veletta Ramey

My husband, Malcolm, always talked about going the library as a child and reading. In 2018, he was the winner of the Winter of Reading prize drawing at Ford Warren Library! He loved the Tattered Cover Book Store stellar schwag bag. Malcolm, also leaves to cherish his memory his mother-in-law, Delois J. Haynes-Taylor.
