Aunt Audrie (my mother) has always said that Jan was the best thing that ever happened to her nephew Chappie Cotton! I remember him as fun but kid-shy (he would park his car far down the street from our house so that my brothers and I would not get fingerprints on it) when he would visit us in Pasadena. Then he met and married Jan, who brought out the very best in him, including a patience that Mom marveled over since she would tell stories of his being such a terror when they were growing up in Oklahoma City! And then the two of them built such a wonderful, loving family with Jan clearly the binding force with her strong spiritual core and devotion. So transformative. We know that you all will continue her legacy of faith and family, cherishing all the memories so that they live on for the generations to come, and comforting one another. God Bless.
