I learned only yesterday about Dear Debbie. We worked together in educational theatre and she quickly took me under her wing. She was patient, encouraging and such a great role model as a Mother. I loved seeing her bring her little ones, Dina and Ryan, to rehearsal and was one of the first actors I knew who showed me the possibility of having a family and remaining an artist. We packed many impactful memories in just two years. Thank you, Debbie. Rest well and know that you were loved, appreciated and made a huge impact on so many of us. Peace and blessings, Edna “Sofie” Calderon Boulad

I found out today that Debbie had passed. It’s hard to think beautiful Debbie has moved on from this world though her spirit shines bright through so many. Debbie and I spent 5 years together touring educational theatre. She generously invited me into her life and shared so much that continues to impact how I understand the world. She was a sister and a very good friend to me and I am so grateful to have shared some of her life.. My very best to you Terry, Dina and Ryan

I met Mrs. Lee at one of my darkest moments, and in an instant she illuminated my path. Her smile and laugh were beyond contagious. Her voice and hugs would warm anyone and anything that was able to experience it. She was so tender, giving, forgiving, and overall a genuine woman with a strong faith in god. At my darkest moment when everything fell to shambles she reminded me that god is good and has my path and would pray with me. She never failed to amaze me with her healing words and prayers. I will miss her wise words and mothering mentorship she granted me with. I love Mrs. Lee so much, and my condolences to her family. I thank god everyday to have been able to be apart of Mrs.Lee's life and most of all have her so involved in mine, we lost an amazing person on this earth but her spirit will always be something we all share. Rest in peace Mrs.Lee.

You were a light that undoubtedly touched the world. You inspired me to be passionate about music, and loved everyone so passionately. I know that you changed the life of everyone you met. You constantly would check in on me, and were always so happy to see me. The kindness and genuineness you showed everyone was, and still is, inspiring.
We were so fortunate to have you here for when we did. When I found out you had passed, my heart broke. But I know you're at peace, and comfortable, and for that, I am grateful. Thank you so much for everything you have done for me, and for everyone. I love you always.

Debbie you were an extremely bright light and a wonderful balance to this universe. Terry made an awesome decision to spend his years with you and dedicate his life, his efforts and his heart to loving you. You were a remarkable woman in so many ways, from your investment in the community, to your willingness to embrace motherhood and create an awesome family dynamic. You are and will be missed, your sense of humor, your patience and your encouragement throughout the years. Thank you for being a stand for your health and the mental/emotional health of others and for being so honest with all those you encountered. You touched my life and I'll never forget you.

I was raised to believe I wasn’t good for anything until I met this women right here, I remember when I first met her and she saw the good inside me right away which is so rare for people to do, she was always very positive with every situation. I remember our talks and how she would always tell me how brilliant I was, and she never forget to tell me that. She was like a mom that I wish I had because no women ever ever made me realize my worth but her. I wish I could sit down and talk about how I was a loud student in her class, or how I couldn’t get a line right, maybe rant about my current sweetheart. Everyday I think about her laugh and smile because it would make everybody be positive.... I will forever miss you

Terry we want you and the family to know that we are praying for you and with you during this time. Tanny and I were just reminiscing about the time you and Debbie came to Maryland to visit us and the exciting impromptu drive down to Williamsburg. We had such a great time of fellowship and fun while watching Jeremiah dance for Debbie. Her beautiful smile and contagious laugh are forever cemented in our memories. Enjoy this photo of Debbie enjoying the moment and may it bring you joy as well. We love you and will miss Debbie...

Debbie was such a vibrant soul.
i loved to see her face light up when she spoke of the things she was passionate about. Her acting, directing plays at school, her coaching sports and her golf trips were just a few of the things that brought a spark to her eyes and put that beautiful smile on her face.
She was a strong dynamic woman. She will be missed until we see her again.

Goodbye to a woman that forever changed my life, and the lives of so many others. I had never felt so seen or heard until I met Ms. Lee. She came into my life my Sophomore year, and taught me that the stage was my safe place; in high school it feels like there are so few. It was where I could truly be myself. It’s where I discovered who I wanted to be. Most of my fondest memories revolve around that stage. She was a bonus mom to many of us, and I can honestly say that I wanted to be her when I grew up. I idolized her. Beautiful, talented, and so effortlessly cool. She saw something in me, and others, and she challenged us. She gave us opportunities to live our dreams to perform. She diversified the theater program at GW. People you would never expect to be friends became everything to each other, and this was because of her vision. She was a light. I will forever miss her.

Debbie has been a part of our family since I was in high school. We ran track together at George Washington, same place she taught Drama. She was a wonderful dancer, I'll never forget that group at Eulipions (Debbie, Janice, Hugo, Jimmy, Rosyln and Jo). When ever I saw Debbie she was a joy and it would always bring back those times in high school. You will be missed my friend. Rest in Heaven with our Lord as I know that you have prepared for all your life.
