Addie Marie Elias, 79 walked through Heaven’s Gates, April 21, 2020. She was born in Midland, TX on August 31, 1940. She was preceded in death by husbands, Roger McKelvin Sr., James Burleson, Otis Preston Sr., and Elmer Elias; Her parents Sandy & Addie Hutchinson; 10 Brothers; 3 Sisters; her daughter Gale Burleson; her daughter-in-law Betty McKelvin; two grandsons Martin Burleson Sr and Gary Burleson; one Great Grandson Martin Burleson Jr. She is survived by two sons ; Roger McKelvin Jr. and Otis Preston Jr. (Angela); three daughters; Camelia McKelvin; Cynthia Carmody; and Jeannie Burleson; 18 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Addie graduated from George Washington Carver High School in Midland, TX. As a child, she loved reading and playing in the garden as her father worked in the yard. She often talked about her lifelong friend Lucille, and shared the memory of them sharing a bottle as an infant. In 1960 she relocated to Denver, Co. In 1963 she married the love of her life, Otis Preston Sr. She was a member of the Eastern Star. She loved the lord and was a faithful church “Mother” at Deliverance Jesus is Coming Church of Colorado where her Pastor was Larry Herron. Addie worked for many years as a checker at Safeway Grocery Store. Then, she owned her own business as a house cleaning technician, which she ran with great pride. Addie was very particular about her cleaning and carried these values with her through whole life. Her favorite past time was reading, watching lifetime on TV, and spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed playing domino’s and bid-wist. She also enjoyed growing house plants. Her favorite colors were black & purple, and her favorite music was the blues. She was a loving and caring mother who cherished her children and was always there to support them any way she could. Addie was affectionately known as Mom, Mother, Granny, Great Granny, Gram-Gram, Momma, and Auntie. She was truly loved by many and will be missed.
