Jeffrey C. Vetter
September 23, 1954 - October 21, 2020
Jeffrey “Jeff” Vetter, 66, of Denver, Colorado, died Wednesday, October 21, 2020, at University of Colorado Hospital in Denver.
He was born September 23, 1954, in Morrison, to Charles F. and Elizabeth Marshall Vetter.
Jeff was a graduate of Annawan High School and grew up helping on the family farm in the rural Hooppole area of Illinois. He attended the University of Wisconsin at Green Bay as an Illinois State Scholar. After leaving college he completed an apprenticeship as a journeyman cement mason. He then completed a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Safety from Northern Illinois University in 1983. He worked the majority of his life as a cement mason and was a member of the Operative Plasterers & Cement Masons, a trade which led him in jobs all over Colorado and the Mountain West.
In 1982, daughter Adrienne Vetter was born to Jeff and Lorinda Vetter (Lindley), followed by daughter Katie in 1986. Jeff also known as “Jeffer” by his added second family of Kenyonna, Niamyah, Kaliyah, D’Ne and Donna Jackson. He referred to them as the “the girls” and took pride in providing a stable place for them to call home as they never had that before. Honest work and providing for people he loved were core values that defined his life. In his free time, he enjoyed swimming and watching C-Span.
Jeff is survived by daughter(s) Adrienne Vetter (Colleen Friday) of Wyoming, Kenyonna, Niamyah, D’Ne and Kaliyah of Colorado, and sister, Laurie (Greg) Christian, niece Valerie Christian, nephew Anthony (Stephanie Thompson) Christian and great-nephews, Cameron and Cayden Christian of Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles F. Vetter, daughter Katie Vetter, brother Alan Vetter, and mother Elizabeth Vetter-Swanson.
As memorial services will not be held, Jeff’s second family wishes to recognize him with the following personal messages:
Niamyah~ Even in death you are still loved and forever will be. You have touched the hearts of so many who owe you a lifetime gratitude. We are not saying goodbye for now. I pray you find peace and rest wherever you are. Rest In Peace, we love you with all our hearts Jeffery.
Kaliyah~ I just wanted to say that I miss Jeffery a lot we had so many good memories with him that I will never forget he was always there when we needed things and I love him.
D’ne~ We love you Jeffer. Thank you for everything I wish I could give you one last goodbye hug. I hope it is beautiful where you are, please keep watching over us.
Donna~ You were such a stubborn thing, but that’s why we bonded the most. You were kind and sweet, and you helped me and the girls with so much. I truly hope you know how much you impacted our life, and how much you meant to us. I just want to say thank you, thank you so very much for everything. We will miss you, and we will forever hold you in our hearts. We love you.
Kenyonna~ He was a caretaker for sure, hard working and dedicated but so extremely awkward. Truly one of the most stubborn people that I have ever met, but that’s why we adored him. Because for some reason he chose us, he chose to be there through the hard times and love us unconditionally. He taught us patience, and sternness, but most importantly he taught us how to love again. Thank you for saving us, thank you for protecting and providing for us, thank you for never leaving until you had no more fight left in you. Thank you for the loyalty and love, Jeffer. I love and adore you, may your soul rest forever in peace. Please take these words with with you and know the only pain you ever caused our family was your absence. We love you.
