Obituary of Brian Mykel Johnson

Please share a memory of Brian to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Brian Mykel Johnson Born on August 16th, 1985 on a Friday evening at 5:30pm. Brian is the second oldest of five children and the only baby that slept through the night from the beginning. Brian was a very talented and inquisitive little boy though at times he could be very naughty. Brian was the type of person that loved deeply. One of these loves was the love of music. At a young age Brian came to us and asked if he could play the drums in church. We told him yes and although he was so little, he was such a natural. He would rock back and forth to keep time. Later in grade school Brian came and asked to join the school band and once again the answer was yes. We thought he would bring home drum sticks and a pad, but we underestimated his passion for music. Low and behold he brought home a trumpet with a case as big as he was. When it was time for Brian to practice, we would send him out into the back yard so the entire neighborhood could witness his talent grow and grow it did. Brian later played in the city-wide orchestra and city-wide marching band and attended the School of Performing Arts. His love of music went with him as he grew and when he became a young man, he would play for various churches all throughout Denver and of course all our family events. Brian we will miss your hugs, your smile, your laughter and your sense of humor. Preceding him in death, his great grandmother Beatrice Gabriel, his grandmother Bessie L. Johnson, his grandfather O. L. Johnson, his aunt Betty Johnson, His uncle Stanley Johnson, and his uncle Bobby Johnson. Those that remain to cherish his memory are his son Mikel D Lewis-Johnson his daughter, Rayana L Brown-Johnson. His mother and father David W. & Portia Y Johnson. His brother Brandon K. (Melissa) Johnson, David J Johnson, Dathan C. (Navil) Johnson, His sister Beatrice E. Johnson (Calvin Harris). His grandmothers Palma G. Thomas and Betty Nave. His God-Father Superintendent Gabriel J. Hatcher Sr. and his God-Mother Missionary Karen Hatcher with their children Gabriel Jr., Sarah, and Rachel. His three God-sisters Amari Gordon, Gabriella Smith, Morgan Byrd. Along with his Aunts, Uncles, and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews. Until we meet again, Goodbye Music Man
