It is with sadness that I heard about Terry's passing. It was an honor and privilege to play with him. He always encouraged me and tried to help me improve my game. Always incredibly supportive and helpful. But he was more than that. A decent and kind human being. Terry was the starting point guard on our 82 championship team. I was the back-up. When I would come into the game Terry would shift over to the shooting guard spot. I always felt bad for the person guarding him because I knew he was going to light them up. After a basket as he headed back up court, he had that sly, crooked grin. Another "lesson taught" and sometimes mumbling to himself. It is a great memory. Another memory is I used to tease him about dunking. As one who could barely touch the net let alone the rim, he took my comments in stride. He would try time and time again in practice without much luck. We were playing I think Manual HS and he was on a breakaway and sure enough he slammed it home. Brought the house down. Terry was a leader. I know I looked up to him. He led by example and he led by words. The world needs more Terry Butts. I haven't spoken to him for close to 40 years, but he still is a big part of my youth. My condolences to Larry and the whole family. May his memory always be for a blessing - Jim Korn

Teeny use to go down the street and get the twins and bring them back to our mom and family and we enjoyed having them. They sang in Teeny choir and I know if Teeny was here she would have a fit. at George in '82.
