The sun rose on the life of Pastor Alton Trimble, Sr., on April 11, 1926 in Henderson, Texas when he was born to Arthur L. Trimble and Bennie M. Trimble. He was the second of nine children born to this union. Alton had three brothers, Alvin, Calvin and Mack and five sisters, Alma, Freddye, Helen, Mary and Hattie. As a child, he was always training and riding horses, athletic in sports, but he hated wearing short pants. Educated in the public school system, Alton graduated from Rusk County High School in Henderson, Texas and later continued his education at the Glendale School of Theology where he received many awards. He later met and married Doris J. Warner on November 21, 1987 at the Faith Temple COGIC in Los Angeles, CA. They love to travel together to many destinations and pasturing Greater Faith Christian Center. Alton was the proud father of seven children; Alton, Jr., Dwight, Esmond, Debra, Phyllis, Roberta and Aubin. Alton served at the Greater Faith Christian Center for 19 years as the Founder and Pastor. Pastor Alton was an entrepreneur and business owner of South Bay Screen Glass and Doors for 10 years. In his free time, he enjoyed playing tennis, being an avid runner, traveling and vacationing. His best friends Ansley Truitt and Pastor Lewis Brown, Sr., will always remember him for his sense of humor, loyalty and love of fellowship with the saints. Pastor Alton was a great bible teacher & scholar, a loving leader & shepherd of the flock. He loved listening to gospel music as well. Pastor Alton lived in Texas from 1926-1942, lived and worked in Los Angeles from 1942-1991 and had been a resident in Aurora, CO from 1991-2021. This God fearing, strong, gentle giant and caring man was loved by so many, and he will be truly missed. The sun set on the life of Pastor Alton Trimble, Sr., on January 28, 2021 at the Denver Hospice when he passed from labor to reward. He is preceded in death by his parents, son Esmond Trimble, daughters Phyllis and Aubin Trimble, brothers Alvin, Calvin and Mack Trimble, and sisters Mary Malone and Hattie Campbell. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Doris J. Trimble of Aurora, CO; sons, Alton (Judith) Trimble, Jr., and Dwight (Jackie) Trimble, daughters, Debra (Terry) Bell and Roberta Clark Trimble all of Los Angeles, CA; sisters, Alma Trimble-Polk, Freddye (J.D.) Rowlett and Helen J. Morrison all of Aurora, CO, host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Rest In Peace....Pastor Alton
