Obituary of Johnathan Monron Gay
Please share a memory of Johnathan to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Johnathan Monron Gay, a beloved son, father, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, passed away on Saturday, April 10, 2021. Johnathan was born on March 14, 1960, in Palestine, TX, to Jessie M. Martin and Austin Yarbrough. Johnathan was later adopted and raised by Johnnie R. Gay after he married Jessie.
His mother and grandmother moved to Denver, CO, when he was four months of age. Johnathan grew up and received his education in the Denver Public Schools. After high school, Johnathan joined the United States Army in service to our country.
Johnathan married Miriam Rodriguez, and from their union, Monique Evelyn Gay was born. Johnathan was a self-employed master auto mechanic. It was a great source of pride for Johnathan to take something mangled or damaged and meticulously repair it and restore it to its original use.
He was preceded in death by his son, Aaron Smith. He leaves to cherish his memories: his mother, Jessie M. Ricks, his father Johnnie R. Gay, his daughter, Monique Evelyn Gay, his siblings, Janice Tianel Cannon (Overseer Hosea Jr.) Charlotte LaGail Anderson (Lester), Cheryl Lynn Cooper (Anthony), Austin Douglas Yarbrough Jr. (Lisa), Arthur Lee Yarbrough, ten nephews, three nieces, and a host of family and friends.
Johnathan will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
