Obituary of Helene Michelle Brooks

Helene Michelle Brooks (57) of Denver, Colorado passed away on August 26, 2021. She was born on August 25, 1964 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Helene worked as customer service representative and was also studying under "CHIC" Collaborative Healing Initiative Within Communities which offers training for women by women. This is where she built her skills in construction and was on her way to becoming a creative artisan. While she was in the pre-apprentice program she carved an African décor clock for her sister. She wanted them to design it together so she created the masterpiece and Katrina added the finishing touches. One of her dreams was to develop an empowerment program with her sister Katrina to help victims of drug use and sexual abuse. Helene loved to sing, cook and she loved her family dearly. She enjoyed sending inspiring cards to her sister without an occasion. Most importantly she loved GOD and was passionate about his word. She knew her purpose in life and that was to share the word of GOD with others. Predeceased by her parents, Margurita Ann Brooks and Essick "Johnny" Brooks and siblings Carmen Young and Roslyn "Tweety" Brooks. She is survived by her children Ohmar Divine Brooks, Tarayia Shilon Brooks, Chamera Davis, Nafeasha Collins, Talitha Brooks and Amir Gabriel McSweeney; grandchildren Lynayia Shalon Brooks, Ohmar Divine Brooks Jr. (deceased), A'loyal Divine Lewis, G'Rayla and Carmen Enge; and siblings Felicia O'Donnell and Katrina Brooks.
