Obituary of Lucy Jean Hall

Lucy Jean Hall was born in Denver, Colorado on August 9th, 1936. She was the youngest of eight children born to Amos Hall, Sr., and Georgia Gaines Hall. Lucy was educated in Denver Public Schools. She graduated from Manual High School in 1955. Lucy earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Colorado Boulder, and a Master of Social Work Degree from the University of Denver. She subsequently earned a second Master's Degree. Lucy worked for the Department of Defense, as a civilian, in the Heidelberg, Germany area for four years. She was also the MSW Director of Warren Village in Denver. Lucy ended her working career with the Internal Revenue Service. Lucy was a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. Lucy passed from this life on September 18th, 2021. She is survived by her sisters Thelma Beard and Gladys Higgins, and her brother Amos Hall, Jr. of Denver and Aurora. Lucy also leaves behind many nieces and nephews to mourn her passing. In lieu of flowers, the family requests making donations to the National Association of Black Social Workers.
