Obituary of Jason LaRon Merriweather

Please share a memory of Jason to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
The sun rose on the life of Jason LaRon Merriweather on July 5, 1975, in Denver, Colorado when he was born to parents, Bruce Lee Merriweather and Janet Marie Askew. He had two brothers, Grasher and Torien and one sister, Shelisha. As a child, he loved playing with Legos. “He would not eat his taco if the shell was cracked, if we got a taco that was cracked, we had to go back and request a new taco!” Educated in the public school system, Jason graduated from Montbello High School in Denver. He was an honors student in the 11th grade and earned a 3.8 gpa. On April 2, 2002, Jason was united in marriage with NiTosha Jackson, the love of his life. They met the night she accidentally dialed the wrong phone number. The couple exchanged their vows in her parents’ home in Parker, CO. He once had all the ladies crying while talking about NiTosha was exactly who he prayed for long before meeting her. Jason had four beautiful and beloved daughters, Q’Aura, Niyah, Mia and Leilah. They remember him pretending to be German and saying “gesundheit” to them before going to bed. A man of faith, Jason was a member of His New Creation Church for ten years. He served the Lord and his church in the office of Deacon. A Pharmacy Tech by profession, he was employed with Kaiser for eight years. He was known for dedication to his job, dependability and excellence in his work. Everyone enjoyed working with him. In his free time, Jason enjoyed sharing quality time with family and friends, Friday family fun night, washing his truck and watching movies with his family. His best friends Brian and Tony will always remember him for making jokes among many other things. His favorite colors were burgundy and green. He most enjoyed listening to instrumental rap and hip-hop music. Jason was an extraordinarily loving husband and father. He had a deep sense of how to hold his family together with love and understanding. His love, kindness, caring and regard for others will be deeply missed by his family and all who were blessed to share a part of the wonderful man’s life. To know him was to love him. The sun set on the life of Mr. Jason LaRon Merriweather on October 19, 2021, when the Lord took him home to eternal joy and rest. Those left to cherish his precious memories include his wife, NiTosha Merriweather; daughters, Q’Aura Merriweather, Niyah Merriweather, Mia Merriweather and Leilah Merriweather, all of Aurora, CO; father, Bruce Merriweather of Thornton, CO; mother, Janet Askew of Denver, CO; brothers, Grasher “Tonya” Johnson of Arizona and Torien Askew of Denver, CO; sister, Shelisha Kone of Aurora, CO; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Pastor Terry Jackson, Sr. and Carolyn Jackson of Denver, CO; brothers-in-law, Terry (MiShelle) Jackson, Jr. and Timothy Jackson, both of Aurora, CO; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
