To Lily and all my family...and friends that loved Wilbert so...my thoughts...my prayers are with you.
I wanted to believe everyday I awaken that it was from a bad dream. Today makes it so very real. I am going to miss hanging out with you, taking pictures with you, sitting up till all hours of the night talking photography and taking pictures with you on my visits. I still laugh how Lily would shake her head and say, "I'm going to bed". My heart is heavy but I know you are peace. We have many memories that will live on. I'm going to miss you my cousin. People would laugh when I still called you "Little Wibert" from our childhood days. They would say, he's Willie or Wilbert now. To me, you will always be Little Wilbert. Till we meet again.

In loving Memory of my Uncle Wilbert,
I want to thank the Lord for you and I want to thank you for always being a voice of strength and acceptance. I remember the many side talks we had that made me feel seen and heard though I said nothing. We had talked about being the oldest and the responsibility to love no matter what and the call to stand back and let our siblings lights shine. Seemed like a hard message but it stayed with me. I love hard, I forgive quickly, and I am just me, no worry about being seen.
I felt invisible at times. My uncle always let me know that I was seen, didn't matter if it was at a family get together or in a Grocery store. He was going to embrace me with a hug, smile, and something funny. He always ended our talks with "be you Lacresha."
I miss you already uncle. I know you rest in peace. To our family we love you all. we send you our love and prayers. Please lean into the Lord, He is a faithful conforter.

I will always love you Willy, you were and are one of the best people I have had the privilage of meeting in this life.
