Obituary of Maurice Lynn Wilson

Please share a memory of Maurice to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
The sun rose on the life of Maurice Lynn Wilson on October 17, 1968, in Denver, Colorado when he was born to Sgt. Kenneth Richard and Debra Jean Wilson. He was the first child born to this union. Tragically his father was killed in the Vietnam war before Maurice was born. Maurice had a younger brother, Michael Lamonte. As a child, he was very loving, caring, and protective. It was not unusual for him to give away his clothes, school supplies, and food to others who he thought was in need. One memory that stands out, was back in the winter and the snow was falling hard, and how Maurice was walking home from school without a coat. He had given his coat, hat, and gloves to someone who needed it. He came home and gave the explanation by saying when asked about his coat, “you can get me another one, because you are rich”. Maurice didn’t like seeing others hurting or in need. Maurice attended Manual High School and later received his GED after dropping out of school. He never married or had any children. He attended Antioch Church of God in Christ at an early age along with his mother and brother under the leadership of the late Bishop Frank E. Johnson. In his adult life, Maurice decided to make some choices that affected his lifestyle and mind set. He never forgot his family, his friends or his religious upbringing. He loved his nieces and nephews and would make little stories and record his voice on it for them. Maurice was surrounded by many friends who lifted him up in prayer. Maurice Lynn Wilson passed away peacefully on September 29, 2022, in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. He is preceded in death by his father. Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Debra Wilson Ramsey of Denver, CO; brother, Michael (Donya Grove) Wilson of Aurora, CO; grandmother, Beatrice Pyant of Denver, CO; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
