Obituary of Robert Edward Hamilton

Please share a memory of Robert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
The sun rose on the life of Robert Edward Hamilton on July 9, 1961, in Denver, Colorado when he was born to Edward Hamilton and Eva Mae Jenkins. He was the fourth out of five children born to this union. Robert had three brothers, Prentice, Fletcher, and Bruce, and one sister, Sandra. As a child, he was always fighting in a playful way with everyone and chasing his siblings down the street with Sandra’s hard baked biscuits. Educated in the public school system, Robert graduated from Aurora Central High School in Aurora, Colorado. Robert met Cheryl Givens at a gathering and on June 5, 1992, they were united in marriage at the Justice of The Peace in Denver, Colorado. The marriage consisted of them talking all day and night about their children and saying how they were hungry afterwards. Robert was the proud father and bonus father to Brent, Chetara, Brandon, Jacquelyn, and Robert. They remember him for always being on their backs about getting their education. He was later blessed with grandchildren, D’aunte, Ahzrianna, Christopher, Jasmine, Maya, Rayshawn, Armani, Cedric, Samyra, Caysen, Amara, Marriana, Mia, Patience, Loki, Mary Truth, LaTaya, Mateo, and Malayah. They called him “Grampie”, “Papa“, and “Grandpa” and remember how he was always available to babysit but wouldn’t change no diapers. He would always call his wife regardless, if she was working or not. Robert was a member of Agape Church for 41 years. By profession, he was a jack of all trades and was self-employed. His clients and co-workers remember how he was always willing to teach others what he knew. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, and woodwork. His best friends, Gordon, Chuck, and Victor will always cherish how he would be available with that listening ear and that shoulder to lean on. His favorite color was whatever his wife put him in, his favorite flower was whatever his wife loved, which was plants, and he enjoyed the sounds of jazz music. His lasting impact that he left behind was his giving heart, his smile, his laugh, his dancing and him just being there when you needed him. This funny, kind, loving, and goofy man will be deeply missed. To know Robert, was to love him. The sun set on the life of Robert Edward Hamilton on October 7, 2022, in Aurora, Colorado when he passed from this life into eternal rest. He is preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Fletcher Hamilton. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Cheryl Hamilton of Denver, CO; sons, Robert Edward (Kiesha) Hamilton, II of Artesia, NM, Brent Givens of Denver, CO, Brandon (Monica) Givens of Aurora, CO; daughters, Jacquelyn (Ronnie) Smith of Kansas City, MO, Chetara (Herbert) Wilkins of Cheyenne, WY; brothers, Prentice Hamilton and Bruce Hamilton both of Denver, CO; sister, Sandra (Wayne) Hunter of Denver, CO; 19 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
