Obituary of Stephen Bond Rich

Please share a memory of Stephen to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Stephen Bond Rich, son of Robert S. Rich and Elizabeth Ann Imming was born August 6, 1983, in Denver Colorado. He attended Options High School and spent a few years in Durango for College. Most of his life he worked in Management and Supervisory positions, most recently for Vail Resorts as a lift Supervisor for Peak 8. Stephen loved the mountains and all they had to offer, snowboarding, fishing, sledding, shooting, and camping. He spent most of his spare time participating in mountain activities, when he wasn’t spending time with his girls. He is survived by Tonya Rich (wife), Pyper Rich (daughter), Pantera Rich (daughter), Elizabeth Baumchen (mother), Bob Baumchen (stepfather), Robert Rich (father), Stephanie Rich (sister), Victor Newton (Stephanie’s spouse), and Jayme Rich (nephew). Stephen was diagnosed with stage 4 Malignant Melanoma Cancer in November of 2021. He fought a tough fight but had many complications over the past year and moved on to higher peaks on November 18, 2022. Stephen was a free spirit who did not like rules, authority, or structure. He lived his life under his terms and his way. He found his perfect partner in Tonya, who was a dedicated and loving caregiver, throughout his illness. Stephen lived a full life creating a beautiful family and making many friends who will gratefully remember him.
