Pastor Tom and Pastor Anithia welcomed me and my son Brendson to the church in a critical time in our life. My son was 5 years old and had just lost his dad to sickle cell anemia.
Pastor Tom always inquired about how he was doing and gave him the warmest hugs and a little gift of love, so that we could go out for ice cream after church.
My son is now, 30 years of age and doing for well. I am grateful for the love that was shown to my family by the pastors when I attended there and the guidance I received as a children's church teacher.
Pastor Tom gave from his heart and I know that God has greeted him with my good and faithful servant , well done!
To Pastor Anithia and family, may God continue to give you strength and comfort. We love you all.

My condolences to Pastor Anitha and family! Pastor Tom and Anitha were such mentors to me at a very young age and their church, For His Glory, was like a second home to myself and my Grandmother Maude Williams. Trust that every word of encouragement, teaching and ministry stays with me to this very day as an adult. I appreciate Pastor Tom and dearly consider myself fortunate to have encountered such a man of faith and a man of God!

I met Pastor Tom as a young man about 17 and he became a mentor to me, a friend and inspiration. It was the first time I really saw what a professional and successful Black business man was like up close and Personal, so I had many questions and I found myself wanting to be like him in many ways. I considered him like a second father figure to me. He was the reason I started my first business at 18 and was able to buy a BMW as a matter of fact he sold me that BMW, and belonged to HIS WIFE! He simply came home and said honey I have to sell your car to Kevin because I told him if he came up with a business idea and started that business annd made enough over the summer to buy it, that I would sell it to him and that's exactly what I did and exactly what Pastor Tom did! He sold it to me in 1988 for something like $20k cash that I earned over 1 summer, he didnt think I could or would make that much, neither did I frankly. He also didn't think I knew (but I did) it was worth way more than $30k and he sold it to me for probably a $12k-$15k loss to himself but he set a bar for me and when I reached it he was a man of his word and that taught me to be a man of my word and honor what u say even if u come out on the loosing end.
Not to worry though I got a shiny new BMW as a kid and after initial reaction, she was less than pleased, (love you Anitha) he hugged her and said dont worry honey Im buying you that new shiny red convertible Mercedes to make up for it so he quickly turned her frown into a smile & everyone was a winner! He taught me so many lessons in the process. One, to work hard for what you want and go get it Two to be a man of my word. Three to help others whenever you can. Four, how important it is to mentor children and pour into them, something I still do to this day. Five, to always take care of your wife. Six, that entreprenuership is the way to build the life that I wanted.
