Please share a memory of Marcuis to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
The sun rose on the life of Marcuis Aurthur Ross on November 14, 1986, in Denver, Colorado when he was born to Steven A. and Velma D. Ross. Marcuis was blessed with two brothers, Erik, and Sherman, and six sisters, Saquita, Sherelle, Celine, Nakita, Ashley, and Pilar. As a child, he loved animals and going to the zoo. When Marcuis would set his mind on something, he always did it. Educated in the public school system, Marcuis attended Barrett Elementary, Martin Luther King Jr. High and Montbello High School where he graduated in 2005. Marcuis met Yolanda Bartley at Montbello High School and on November 17, 2014, they were united in marriage at the Denver County Courthouse. The marriage consisted of them doing things together as a family. He was the loving and devoted father to Ky’Mani and Knowledge whom he loved dearly. The children remember him being very active and how he would often get on his knees to roll around with them. Marcuis received Christ at an early age and attended Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor Henry Miles. By profession, he was a private security guard where he had been employed since 2023. His coworkers remember him for being fun to work around, dependable, and such a joy. In his free time, Marcuis enjoyed playing football, spending time with his kids, cooking, and watching all types of sports. His best friends were his father and his wife Yolanda, whom he loved very much. His favorite color was purple, he loved roses, and the sounds of R&B, hip hop, jazz, and gospel music. Marcuis will always be remembered for his smile, his willingness to help others, his love of chicken & BBQ, and how he always made sure to put his family first. This kind, loving, fun, and caring man will be deeply missed. To know Marcuis was to love him. The sun set on the life of Mr. Marcuis Arthur Ross on October 25, 2023, in Aurora, Colorado when he passed from this life into his eternal rest. He is preceded in death by his mother, Velma D. Ross and sister, Ashley. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Yolanda Ross; sons, Ky’Mani Bartley, and Knowledge Ross; father, Steven “Red” Ross; grandmother, Delois Ross; and grandfather, Steve Ross all of Aurora, CO; 7 siblings; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
