Obituary of Tyrone Mckinnley Jenkins, Sr.

We are saddened to say our beloved father, brother, and son Tyrone Mckinnley Jenkins, Sr. has transitioned into the arms of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ in Denver, Colorado surrounded by family. He was born on October 24, 1956, to the union of Jerry Lee Jenkins, Sr. and Pauline Yvonne Hampton-Jenkins-Collins in Chicago, Illinois. He was the sixth of eight children. He was baptized at an early age. He was a hardworking man, working for his father at his many businesses but mainly as a cab stand dispatcher. He met his lifetime partner, Linda Johnson whom with they had five children. He was a devoted father and family man. He loved enjoying life, laughing and being funny. Tyrone was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Lee Jenkins, Sr.; mother, Pauline Yvonne Hampton-Jenkins-Collins; sister, Antoinette Jenkins; brother, Terrance Jenkins; son, Tyrone Mckinnley Jenkins, Jr.; and grandchildren, DeShawn, Alexis, and Diane. Tyrone leaves to cherish his memory to his lifetime partner, Linda Johnson; daughters, Quintella Johnson, Pauline Yvonne Johnson, and Lena Johnson; son, Ervin Magic Johnson; siblings, Jerry Lee Jenkins, Jr., Henry Jenkins (Lilly), Vanessa Hall, Cozette Taylor (Cecil), Minister DeRon N. Collins, Sr. (Terry); and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many friends. Tyrone went from labor to reward on December 12, 2023, he will be truly missed. This is not a goodbye, but we will see you later on the other shore. We all love you. 2 Corinthians 5:7-8 “For we walk by faith and not by sight.” We are confident, yes well pleased knowing that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.
