I’ve known Tommy most of my life. He was like my little brother. I could write this book from our high school stories alone. He was Tommy there was no one like him and there will never be again. I wish I would’ve kept in touch better with Tommy. The last time we seen each other. Me and the love of my life had just gotten back from taking my kids back to Sugarland, TX. It was New Years Eve 2023. We met Tommy at the bank of Mingo on the four lane going to Williamson. He was in full cowboy attire plum down to his spurs and his long coat on his side. We went to 3 guys pizza in Williamson, WV to watch the ball drop. The people there kept staring at him. They didn’t know what to think of a dude in his Stetson and a spurs jangling as he walked through the place. We drank a beer and caught up. We ended up leaving because that wasn’t the kind of place me or Tommy liked tbh. We went to spend the rest of the night ringing in the New Year at Ashley’s parents home. The ball dropped on our way there. We ended staying there inside Wes and Sherry Justice’s garage until about 2 or 3 am I guess. We drank a few beers with Wes(Ashley’s dad) and they talked about his long colt for quite some time. We left there and dropped Tommy back off at his truck, hugged and said our goodbyes not knowing it then but for the very last time in person. Tommy was the realest person anyone could ever know. He was and will always be my little brother. I love Tommy with all of my heart. He was always small growing up and I watched over him. We got into all sort of meanness kids get into especially back when we grew up when kids were still kids. Not like today. I know one day I’ll see him again in Heaven where he is breaking horses for God or riding out into a trek of the most perfect wilderness that one can only imagine how beautiful it must be. May the good Lord bless Tommy’s mom and sisters. I love you all and am praying for you all daily. Thank you Edith for letting me know. I love you Tommy Sugars gone but never forgotten little brother.
