Obituary of Robert Vernon Posey, Jr.

The sun rose on the life of Robert Vernon Posey, Jr. on August 21, 1951, in Denver, Colorado when he was born to Robert Vernon Posey, Sr. and Luise Posey. The third out of five children born, Robert had three brothers, Dewayne, O’ Bias and O’ Brian, and one sister, Norma Jean. Educated in the public school system, Robert graduated from East High School in Denver, Colorado. Robert met Lanetta Graham at the Jet Set and on April 19, 1974, they were united in marriage at 3311 Josephine St. in Denver. He was the loving and devoted father of a beautiful daughter, Nau’tasha whom he loved dearly. Robert later met Cami Allen at the Ivy Restaurant and on October 5, 2012, in Buffalo, South Dakota they were united in marriage. Cami remembers his love for children, being a great cook, always smiling and being so kind to everyone. His daughter reflects on the pancakes with strawberries and whip cream they would eat as well as him teaching her how to drive a stick shift on Pena Blvd. Robert was blessed with grandchildren, Tylor, Iauniss, and Jasmine and great grandson, Kaden. He was also the proud bonus grandfather of Christopher, Cheyanne and Elizabeth. The grandkids called him “Grandpa”, “Pop Pop” and “Papa” and remember getting picked up from school, listening to music, attending his granddaughters wedding, making graduations special for all, and teaching them how to cook. Robert studied the Jehovah witness faith for 2 years. By profession, he was a City Engineer. Robert had also worked for the Denver Water Department for 20 years. While in Cody, Wyoming he worked as a cook at the Irma Hotel and the Cody Steakhouse before he became ill. His coworkers remember him for his hard work and always being a very helpful person. In his free time, he enjoyed cooking and making things with his hands. His favorite color was brown, and he loved listening to the sounds of jazz and R&B music. This funny, kind, hustler, skilled, and family man will be deeply missed. To know Robert was to love him. The sun set on the life of Robert Vernon Posey, Jr. on September 13, 2024, in Wyoming when he passed from this life into his eternal rest. He is preceded in death by his parents, and all his siblings. Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter Nau’tasha R. Posey of Aurora, CO; wife, Cami Posey of Cody, WY; 6 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Rest In Peace…Robert
