Romona Stella Martinez 10/24/59 to 09/08/24 Stella was born in swink Colorado on October 24, 1959, to Samuel E Martinez of Guadalupe New Mexico and Mary B Martinez of Villa Nueva New Mexico. Stella lived and grew up in La Junta, Colorado, being raised by her stepfather Dan Mora and her mother Mary. Stella is survived by her 3 daughters Leigh B. Martinez of La Junta, Co. Celina M. Powell of Denver, Co and Samantha R. Powell of Mexico. Grandchildren Marrissa C. Vigil of Golden Co, Jordin C. Powell of Brighton, Co, Brandin C. Powell of Denver, Co Eaydin C. Powell, Kailoni Martinez of Aurora and Evelyn Powell of Mexico. Stella is also survived by her great grandchildren Ellalaya Rose Powell 9 of Lakewood, Co, Alasar Malachi Soto Dela Cruz 2 of Denver, Co, including 2 other great grandchildren of Golden, Co, and one sister survives Gloria Edger of Lakewood, Co plus many nieces and nephews. Stella was a very caring women who always wore her heart on her sleeve. She was a very loving mother and grandmother, and it showed when it came to her grandson Jordin because she loved that kid more than life itself, she always said that Jordin was her consintego which basically means her heart. Stella would go to the ends of the earth for her little Pooh bear, he was her first-born grandson and the joy of her life she was so proud of him, and she let it be known. Stella was a busy body, she loved doing arts and crafts and fixing things that were broken, I don’t think there was anything that she could not fix. She was always doing favors for her family and friends and if you were every hungry you can count on Stella’s door to be open, she loved to cook and feed those in need just like her mother Mary. Stella could always put a smile on your face and always believed that laughter was medicine for the soul and a sure way to stay young at heart. She had a laugh that was contagious for sure and a smile that could Brighton any room. She will be forever missed and forever loved and never forgotten. (Rest in Peace my dear mother) and so it was written, and Romona Stella Martinez precedes into death with the love of her life, my father Mr. Charles Christopher Powell who passed 5 days before she did. Her mother and stepfather Dan and Mary as well as her biological father Samuel. Her great granddaughter Isabelle Cormeir Powell who passed away at the young age of 7 and her brothers and sisters Danny Mora, Diana Gamen, Patricia Martinez and Grace Martinez, also a niece Yvonne Martinez Rangel and Cheyenne Powless. Romona will live on in our hearts and our memories always.
