The sun rose on the life of Catherine Ileen Spear affectionately called “Cathy” or “Cat” on March 20, 1960, in Oklahoma when she was born to Jerry and Franklin. Cathy had two brothers, Dennis and Timothy, and one sister, Kelli. As a child, she was always the boss and loved easy bake ovens. She also loved stray animals who soon became her friends.
Educated in the public school system, Cathy graduated from Richard King High School in Corpus Christi, Texas. She continued with her studies by attending Delmar Junior College in Corpus Christi where she earned her associate’s degree.
Cathy later met James “Curt” Taylor. The couple became inseparable and enjoyed spending much time with one another.
By profession, she was employed as an account receivable in bookkeeping, while living in Corpus Christi.
In her free time, she enjoyed decorating her home for the holidays, puzzle solving, and spending time with her pets.
Her favorite colors were red, white, gold, yellow and blue, she loved plants, and the sounds of country music.
This sweet, kind, caring, and loving lady will be deeply missed. To know Cathy was to love her.
The sun set on the life of Catherine Ileen Spear aka “Cathy” on October 19, 2024, in Aurora, Colorado when she passed from this life into her eternal rest.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Dennis, and dogs, Buddy and Dinkie.
Those left to cherish her memory include her devoted companion, James “Curt” Taylor; brother, Timothy J. Alexander; sister, Kelli A. Alexander; devoted dog, Yoyo; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
