A Champion My Brother My Friend
One summer day in the early 60's on a track of a football field at a local high school, you and I met while ridding our bikes, we raced each other around that track, although I won that race, in my eye you became A Champion because of grace in which you took the loss, between friends some things can be said with a look, Friends Just Know.
The days when I struggled about who I was, you helped me find my identity with your unselfish devotion and attention, in my world you became My Brother, between friends some things can be said with a look, Friends Just Know.
During the years of our adventures together of camping, playing golf, panning for gold in mountain streams, or that rare hot wheels treasure hunt series diecast car in the department store's toy section, and all those times we spent together... you are My Friend, between friends some things can be said with a look, You My Friend I Just Knew.
Some will know you as Gerald, and some will know you as Bernard, and some will know you as Brooks... I will always know you as... A Champion,... My Brother,... My Friend...
Rest In Peace My Forever Champion, My Loving Brother, My Lifelong Friend...
