Ricky was born on June 11, 1964 in Denver, Colorado. "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes, and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, Neither shall there be any more pain for the former things are passed away." Revelation 21:4 Born and raised in Denver, Colorado, Ricky attended school at Greenlee Elementary, Cole Junior High, and Manual High School. In school he loved reading, socializing, and sports. After public school, he became a landscaper, construction worker, and worked in various restaurants in the northeast side community. Ricky had several nick names "Slick, Vet, and the Ruler" and if you knew him you can understand why. His proud parents, Bernice Stribling and Charles Thompson Sr. loved their second oldest son with all of their hearts. He was the second oldest grandchild of Lester and Walterine Stribling who had a strong hand in raising him. He was the brother of Charles, Brian, Rodney, Robert Thompson and Whitney Riley. Ricky received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in his young adult hood and from there Ricky developed a love and a relationship with the Lord. Ricky joined Divine Missionary Baptist Church where his uncle was the senior Pastor and some of his family members attended. The summer of 2008 is when Ricky found the love of his life, fiancé Rebecker "Kim" Brown. Ricky and Rebecker were planning to marry in the summer of 2014. Ricky loved everyone; family, friends, and even strangers. Now you may have had a disagreement with Ricky, but somehow, some way, you always found yourself back in Ricky's company. Ricky was the type of person that could come over your house and would know your neighbors before you did. In his free time he enjoyed hanging out with his family doing recreational activities like playing Frisbee with his nephews, watching football games with his brothers, uncles, and cousins, and hanging out with his friends in and around the neighborhood. Ricky will be best remembered for his kindness to those who were less fortunate and loved walking around the neighborhood enjoying nature Ricky's favorite song was by Chante Moore, 'Now That Love's Taking Over", and his favorite saying was, "Deliver.' To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heavens; A time to be born and a time to die Eccl 3:1 Ricky is proceeded in death by his father, Charles Sr., his brother, Charles Jr., his sister, Whitney Riley and nephew, Ethan Thompson. He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Bernice Stribling, his brothers, Brian (Stacey), Rodney (Andrea), Robert (Jocelyn), Grandmother, Walterine Stribling; his beloved fiancé Rebecker "Kim" Brown. and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
