Obituary of Robert Earnest Ragsdale

The sun rose on the life of Mr. Robert Earnest Ragsdale on June 28, 1941 in Danville, Georgia when he was born to proud parents, Albert Ragsdale and Margrette F. Ferrell. Educated in the public school system, Robert continued his education after high school at Front Range Community College in Denver, Colorado where he earned a Nursing Degree in 1986. Robert proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Having served with honor and distinction, he was given an Honorable Discharge in 1970 from the government and a grateful nation. In 1959, Robert was united in marriage with Patricia Lott in Colorado Springs, CO. To this union were born three daughters, Rochelle, Regina and Ralondra. The marriage was later dissolved. In 1973, Robert was united in marriage with Evelyn Kay Sanders in Colorado Springs. With this union, he became the father in love of Rosalin and Consuelo, whom he raised like his own. By profession a Registered Nurse (RN), he was employed with the VA Hospital for over 30 years, until his retirement. Additionally he worked at various nursing homes in the Denver Metro area. In his free time, Robert enjoyed family and friends, fishing, camping and traveling. "He loved his motorcycle. He taught Rosalin and Consuelo to ride and they loved it too." His best friends were Gingles, Walter, Milton and Marilyn. They remember that he was always willing to hang out and have a good time. "He was an all around good man. If he loved you, he loved who you loved." His caring, enjoyment in life and warm smile will be missed by all who shared a part of Robert's life. To know him was to love him. The sun set on the life of Mr. Robert Earnest Ragsdale on October 22, 2013 when he passed into eternal rest. He is preceded in death by his father and daughter, Ralondra Ragsdale. Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Margrette Margraves of Colorado Springs, CO; daughters, Rochelle Ragsdale of Colorado Springs, CO, Regina Ragsdale of Dallas, TX, Rosalin (Quentin) Hildreth of Aurora, CO and Consuelo Franklin of Houston, TX; 9 grandchildren; 6 great grand-children; and a host of other relatives & friends. Rest in peace Robert
